Food for Thought – Franz Joseph Haydn
On Sunday, June 21, at 12:30pm in Hoffman Hall, Dave Beck, popular program host for Classical KING FM Seattle and WPC Director of Music, Maria Newman, will discuss the religious dedication of Franz Joseph Haydn and how his deep faith inspired a brilliant and prolific career as a composer and church musician.
As we anticipate the upcoming Music at Westwood concert of Haydn’s Mass in Time of War on June 28, this Father’s Day Food for Thought will be a fantastic way to get to know that masterwork in particular. Additionally, Beck and Newman will explore the intrigues of the man who would compose such a hopeful (and possibly antiwar) mass in the midst of such a troubled time. Join us for lunch, a bit of music, and scintillating conversation!
Call the church office at 310-474-4535 to make your reservation.
Lunch donation is $10, but the talk is free.
