Music at Westwood: A Concert for the Lenten Season
On Sunday, March 13, at 5pm, Music at Westwood is proud to present our Chancel Choir, Soloists, and Westwood Chamber Orchestra in Handel’s “Messiah – Part II,” under the baton of our own Maria Newman. Depicting the remarkable leadership, impending persecution, and glorious resurrection of our Lord, “Messiah – Part II” is less often programmed than its Christmas counterpart, yet is a masterpiece in its own right. Set to text taken directly from the scriptures, this great music surely must arise from the voice of God. You are warmly invited to join your choir, orchestra, world-class organist Namhee Han, and esteemed vocal soloists Christina Borgioli, Nandani Maria Sinha, Adam von Almen, Larry Duplechan, Paul Cummings, and Dimitri Smith, for a late afternoon offering of music and worship.
Parking is free and located next to the church.
Music at Westwood is a program of sacred concert music that has been in existence at Westwood Presbyterian Church since 2002. It strives to present both old and new classical works in a setting that brings one closer to God through sharing the joy of music. www.westwoodpres.org
