Nicaragua Mission Trip – July 19-26
In 2008, the Presbytery of the Pacific formed a mission partnership with four rural villages in Leon, Nicaragua. The philosophy for this mission work is based on building long-term relationships of accompaniment, friendship and spiritual growth. This year’s trip will focus on a retreat where we will discuss whether both parties want to renew the covenant agreement that was signed in 2010. Topics of discussion will be what we have done, what needs to be done, and what will be done. We will also see if there has been any improvement with the educational system since last year’s trip as well as the ever-pressing Chronic Kidney Disease epidemic.
Westwood Presbyterian Church representatives Mary Fish Hardin and Mayra Newbon will be accompanying six other Presbyterian delegates as they do God’s work across the globe. Please pray for our team in the week ahead. Visit popnica.blogspot.com to catch up on our daily experiences and see what we are up to. (Please note that we will be in an area where it may be difficult to blog on a daily basis, but will do our best to stay current.)
