Women Reading — Orphan Train
Join us this Wednesday, April 1, at 7:30pm in Hoffman Hall as we discuss Orphan Train by Christina Baker Kline, a captivating story of two very different women who build an unexpected friendship.
Molly, nearly eighteen, is just months from “aging out” of the child welfare system and close to being kicked out of her foster home. Vivian Daly, almost 91, has lived a quiet life— but in her attic, hidden in trunks, are vestiges of a turbulent path. As Molly helps Vivian sort through her possessions and memories, they discover parallels to their lives. Emotional barriers begin to crumble and Molly discovers that she has the power to help Vivian find answers to mysteries that have haunted her for her lifetime.
The leader will be Jan Doak. All women are welcome to join us, even if you have not read the book.
