A Prayerful Dialogue on Race Relations: We will reflect together on recent events in the news, the pursuit of racial equality in the US, and how our Christian faith impacts our thoughts and actions on this issue.
This three Sunday dialogue will be moderated by Rev. Dr. Charles Marks, a retired PCUSA minister who has extensive experience with urban and racial ethnic ministries. Rev. Dr. Marks will share his story of being the first African American student at Pittsburgh Theological Seminary and lead us in discussion using excerpts from Pastor Cheyney’s “Black Lives Matter” sermon from July 24. He will also guide us to reflection and action using excerpts from two of our Presbyterian Confessions: the Confession of 1967 and the Belhar Confession.
Pastor Cheyney’s sermon can be found in the narthex or via our website at http://bit.do/wpcsermons.
