Jesus often went into the wilderness by himself for a time of silence and prayer.
How much more do we need to stop the distractions in our lives and carve out time to connect with the spiritual side of ourselves!
Creating an intentional time of silence for prayer, meditation, and contemplation in community with others is particularly useful and meaningful, and can often feed our own private practices.
WPC offers two one-day Silent Retreats per year—one in the spring, and another in the fall. Facilitators guide participants into silence, and then participants are gifted with an extended period of time for prayer, reading, journaling, walking meditations, and contemplation.
What is the “Silent Retreat” experience like?

What if one of your “resolutions” for 2018 included creating more space for your spiritual life? On January 27, the WPC Silent Retreat will give you just that opportunity. It is a day set aside for reading, a walking meditation, journaling, and art, as well as prayer, setting goals, and breathing deeply.
Sponsored by the Spiritual Formation Committee, the retreat will held at the West Los Angeles home of one of our fellow church members from 9:00 am-3:00 pm. Lunch will be provided for a suggested donation of $10.
