Westwood Presbyterian Church Preschool was founded in 1960 as a community outreach mission of the church. We welcome children of all abilities, backgrounds, cultures and faiths. We are open from 7:30am – 5pm, Monday through Friday and serve children ages 2 ½ through 5 years.
At WPC Preschool we respect children as unique, capable individuals with their own needs, skills and interests. Through a thoughtful, dynamic curriculum that responds to the children’s interests and needs, we seek to deepen their understanding of the world around them while building essential life and learning skills.
Parents as Partners
Parents are an essential part of our community. We welcome a close partnership to help us form a complete picture of each child. Together, we build a bridge between home and school helping each child feel comfortable and safe. It is from this place of trust that children have the confidence to learn and grow physically, emotionally, cognitively, and socially.
At WPC Preschool we have a play-based approach that enables children to move and learn at their own pace and in their own way. Our teachers provide environments in the classrooms and yard that invite children to explore, discover and challenge themselves within the safety of a supportive and loving community. Our goal is confident, competent learners who can problem solve independently, build friendships, negotiate conflict and communicate their ideas.
Extended Day Enrichment Programs
Children who stay for our extended day program have the option to participate in a variety of programs such as yoga, soccer, art and ballet for an additional cost.
Children entering our program in August must be at least 3 years of age by February 14th of that same year. They can attend until they are old enough to enter kindergarten. Children are admitted on a non-discriminatory basis according to the age of the child when they were added to the waiting list. Priority is given to children of church members and siblings of children currently and previously enrolled.
We work to keep our tuition affordable so that we are accessible to all families. We offer needs-based financial assistance to families that find our tuition beyond their means. Families accepted into the school can apply for tuition assistance at any time.
