           COMMUNION

Before his death, Jesus asked his disciples to break bread and share wine in remembrance of him. Communion is celebrated at Westwood Presbyterian Church the first Sunday of each month and on other occasions of special significance during the year. The invitation to the Lord's Supper is extended to all who have been baptized. All who come in faith, repentance, and love, regardless of church affiliation, are invited to share the Lord's table. Children who have been baptized and taught the meaning of communion are welcome to receive the Lord's Supper.

WEDDINGS

Wedding         Westwood Presbyterian Church is available to all who wish a Christian marriage service. The use of the church is governed by the church session.

1. Preliminary information regarding the scheduling of dates, use of church facilities, and related costs should be obtained from the church office prior to a conference with the pastor.

2. A WPC minister must officiate at the wedding ceremony. The WPC senior pastor must approve requests for additional clergy to participate in the service.

3. Approximately one month before the wedding, a conference with the WPC is held to explore the meaning of the marriage vows and to plan the service.

4. For weddings involving more than twenty-five people, the services of the church wedding coordinator and organist are required. The wedding coordinator is available for consultation regarding decorations, rehearsals, order of service, and details of the service. The coordinator will be present at the rehearsal and the service. The organist is also available for consultation regarding the selection of music and recommendation of a soloist. If other musicians are desired, prior arrangements must be made through the church office.

5. To ensure that nothing will detract from the solemnity of the wedding service, photographs MAY NOT be taken during the service, with the exception of time-exposure photos taken from the balcony. Videos that do not require additional lighting are permitted, subject to the coordinator's oversight.

6. Only birdseed may be thrown and only in the church parking lot.

7. The church will be available to the florist, photographer, and others one and one-half hours before the scheduled time of the wedding.

8. The fees are as follows:

Sanctuary: $400
Wedding coordinator: $175
