Join us for Women Reading on Wednesday, March 17 at 7:30pm. Peggy Krong, our former Assoicate Pastor, will lead our discussion on Saint Patrick's Day. She is enthusiastic about the novel, "This Is Happiness" by the gifted Irish author Niall Williams. This is a beautifully crafted book set during the 1950s, a time when electricity first comes to remote parts of rural Ireland. Williams creates a poetic, intricately observed portrait of Faha, a small Irish village, while also recounting the story of a young man, Noel Crowe, and Christy—a mysterious stranger who, after many years away, returns to Faha. The Washington Post describes the book as “luminous and otherworldly, and yet anchored with deep-running roots into the earthy and the everyday,… A novel of delicate wit laced with rare insight.” It will be a treat to have Peggy with us on Zoom. You do not have to have read the book to join us. If you are not already on the Women Reading email list, contact us at office@westwoodpres.org to be added and receive the Zoom link prior to the meeting.
