Hoffman Hall
Join us in Hoffman Hall on Wednesday, January 8 at 7:30pm as we discuss "The Grammarians" by Cathleen Shine. It is a story about the love of the English language and the sibling rivalry between two identical twins. It was also favorably reviewed in the New York Times and New York Review of Books. One NPR reviewer writes: "The Grammarians is filled with delightful zingers. Each chapter is headed by a definition from Samuel Johnson's A Dictionary of the English Language. This tale of twins is smart, buoyant and bookish — in the best sense of the word.” Shine’s novel is fairly short and reads quickly—another plus for the busy holiday season. Our leader will be Elizabeth Evans.
