A new Spiritual Home for Young Adults

EMBER exists to provide a sanctuary for college students and young adults on the Westside.

We are nurtured by God’s open and world-embracing love for all people. In this spirit, we welcome, affirm, and delight in the vibrant diversity of each person without exception.

We desire to create a space for curiosity and connection, where faith can bloom into acts of justice, love, humility, and peace for the sake of our neighbors and our world.

Ember Contemplative Service

1st Thursday of each month at 7:00pm

30 minutes of stillness, silence, music, & prayer followed by food & fellowship

This service is in the style of Compline, an ancient monastic prayer service that has marked the end of the day for Christian monks since the fourth century CE. It is designed to be an intimate time of reflection and contemplation. Participants are free to join in the responsive prayers and scripture readings, or simply to sit awash in beauty and candlelight. However you choose to participate, know that all are welcomed and affirmed during this sacred time together.

Ember Conversations

3rd Thursday of each month at 7:00pm

Explorations of faith with others on the journey

Each month, we gather near Westwood Village for a chance to hang out and share our lives with each other. This is a relaxed opportunity to get to know other young adults over some Persian ice cream at Saffron & Rose, or perhaps a pint at Broxton Brewery. The venue changes but our commitment to authentic conversation remains the same! Join us as we find our way toward justice, beauty, and grace through open and generous dialogue.
