Pastor’s Welcome

If you’re looking for a community that values hope, kindness, and justice, you will find it here. Wherever we’ve been, or wherever we’re headed, Scripture encourages us to “Do justice, love kindness, and walk humbly with our God” (Micah 6:8) - and that is our North Star.

Justice is more than a word for us. For 75+ years, we have invested in LA and beyond. We were instrumental in founding - and continue to support - PATH, FosterAll, and the Westside Food Bank. More recently, we have partnered with the Westside Coalition, Esperanza Elementary School, Habitat for Humanity, and more. Our newest commitment is Earth Care, in partnership with the Presbytery of the Pacific.

Kindness is a key practice - and our care for one another  equips us for our daily life. Our community  includes life-long Presbyterians, diverse faith traditions, and spiritual explorers … people from LA, across the US, and different nations … young and old, married and single, LGBTQ+ and heterosexual. We bring a wide range of gifts, experience, and interests, including arts and entertainment, caregiving, volunteering, numerous professions, and entrepreneurial ventures. And we have fun!

Humility is not a burden, but a joy, as we grow together as followers of Jesus. Through fellowship and worship, reading and conversation, classes and spiritual practices, we become better equipped to bring God’s love to a hungry and hurting world … especially in these difficult times.

There are many ways to be refreshed, and to serve. As Pastor of WPC, it is my joy to extend a warm welcome to Westwood Presbyterian Church!
