Adult Education & Spiritual Formation

Ember is designed to provide a sanctuary for college students and young adults on the Westside.
Ember is designed to provide a sanctuary for college students and young adults on the Westside—a space for curiosity and connection, where faith can bloom into acts of justice, love, humility and peace—for us, our neighbors, and our world. In addition to our Ember gatherings, young adults are encouraged to engage in WPC’s life together in opportunities for mission, adult education, spiritual formation, choirs, our softball team, and more.
The first Thursday of each month at 7:00 pm, we gather for 30 minutes of stillness, silence, music, and prayer, followed by food and fellowship. In the style of Compline—an ancient monastic prayer service that ends the day—it is designed to provide sacred space for reflection and contemplation.
The third Thursday of each month at 7:00 pm, we gather for a chance to hang out, share our lives with each other, and explore our journey of faith together. This relaxed opportunity to get to know other young adults varies in location—sometimes at the church; sometimes at Saffron & Rose for Persian ice cream; sometimes at Broxton Brewery for a pint. The venue changes, but our commitment to authentic conversation is the same!
