Mission Corner: Habitat for Humanity Los Angeles

Building Unity and Hope in Long Beach On Saturday, February 7, four WPC volunteers joined about fifty others in Long Beach for Habitat for Humanity’s Interfaith Build for Unity event.

Representing WPC were Lara Fedoroff, Aidan Fedoroff, Drew Aylor, and Craig German, who spent the day turning faith into action alongside neighbors from several different churches and faiths.  Led by Chris Untiet, Habitat LA's Director of Faith Relations, the group started their day early (for a Saturday!), with some folks building wall frames for two new Habitat homes while others painted fence posts for the future homeowners' yards. The sounds of hammers and laughter filled the air as progress took shape, and no injuries were reported! By day’s end, everyone left dusty, tired—and deeply inspired by the shared purpose of building not only houses, but hope for local families who will be able to chart a new generational course of home ownership.
